ANETTE SAGEN ANNOUNCED AS THE FIRST JUMPER ON THE NEW HOLMENKOLLEN

Anette Sagan has been announced today to be the first jumper on the New Holmenkollen Ski jump. The jump will take place at the opening ceremony this Wednesday, March 3rd between 19.00 and 20.00.
HOLMENKOLLEN SKI JUMP CERTIFIED BY FIS
As the Holmenkollen jump nears completion, the International Ski Federation (FIS) certified the 134 long ski jump last week! This means that it meets all technical and safety standards for international ski jump competitions.
The trial championship will be on the 12th – 14th of March.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

On Tuesday the 24 of November 2009 the final section mounting will take place, if wind and weather conditions allow for it. An exciting day for JDS …and the engineers too we suspect! The picture shows Section 8, the final section of the steel superstructure being prepared for the final lift!

The construction of the new JDS ski jump in Holmenkollen, Oslo is ongoing! - the pics show the new columns being mounted on the site, Friday 13 Feb.
The columns will be supporting the new 2000 m2 concrete “dome” which will stretch from the foot of the jump-at the end of the steel superstructure - and down to the first tribunes for the public. The concrete “kulskall” and supportive columns covers the existing Kongeveien and the two public access points to the tribunes.
