JDS AT LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL
JDS Architects have been invited by the London design festival to participate in the exhibition Bench10. The exhibition features 10 one-off public benches by 10 leading international designers that will be exhibited in and around London’s Old Spitalfields Market from the 18 of September to the 28 of September. JDS will contribute with STAIR, a bench with multiple seating levels, allowing people to sit in a way that is less prescribed, more flexible and more social.

Architecture on Film: En Construcción (Work in Progress)
Architecture on Film:
En Construcción (Work in Progress)
Monday 29 March, 6.15pm
Cinema 1, Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London EC2Y 8DS
En Construcción is both a film with architecture as its subject, and one where ‘architecture is the genesis of directing.’ A lyrical and humorous observation of a neighbourhood, it focuses on the construction of an upscale apartment block in Barcelona’s rundown El Raval district and was ‘constructed’ as a film over the same period. Director José Luis Guerín shot over 120 hours of footage to document of a ‘ a small part of a neighbourhood searching for its future while jostling its past… a construction site, where if you listen carefully, you can hear the sounds that move the world.’

Responding to the urgent need for sustainable living, Above magazine calls upon the environmentally conscious and everyone else interested in the future by sharpening its focus on the endangered beauty of the world.
It is our firm belief that photography, the plastic arts, fashion, architecture and design can be instrumental in raising awareness about the need to preserve nature and we aim to share our opinionated, yet aesthetic vision, with our readers.
