DMY INTERNATIONAL DESIGN FESTIVAL BERLIN 2010
DMY International Design Festival accelerates the speed at which ideas are generated, raising the bar against traditional systems; inspiring, engaging and challenging design capabilities. This year’s festival has a specific focus on technology, exploring the way our world is enhanced by the products we consume.
Pioneering design from over 400 international designers is at the forefront of this event. Professional designers, studios and firms as well as experimental works by new and upcoming designers will be available to the public. Highlights of the festival will showcase the cultural impact of contemporary design. We are living in an era of rapid change. Existing structures, be it economical or social ones are experiencing ground shaping changes. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of this radical shift.

JDS FEATURED IN ARCHDAILY’S TOP 10 ARCHITECTURE WEBSITES
from ArchDaily’s blog
A great part of our day is spent browsing architects websites looking for new works to share with our readers, and we have noticed that some are very good, while others were such a pain to navigate… So we decided to go and ask our community about this.
Last week, we asked our Facebook Fans for the best architecture office website they knew. We checked them out and decided the top 10, with no particular order. We looked for the best ones in terms of looks, navigation (is is easy to navigate? Is it fast? Can you go back without reloading the menu? Can you link directly to a specific project?), presentation quality, does it look up to date?, projects (can you sort them by location? by year?).
Also, you will notice that no flash website made the list. That’s because we think flash websites have some dificulties. For example, you can’t link a specific project and Google can´t index most of the contents. So we decided to create a ‘honorable mention’ list with all the flash websites we thought deserve it.

Copenhagen Design Week

Copenhagen Design Week by the Danish Design Center is an international event that presents new ideas, knowledge and products – design that generates possibilities for a changing world. For one week, established and new design events are brought together and strengthened to provoke, excite and inspire. As a prelude to COP15 (the UN Climate conference that will be held later in the year), the theme will be sustainable design. Copenhagen Design Week takes place for the first time from 27 August to 6 September 2009.

JDS proposes ‘Collapse’, a collapsable chair that folds into a wafer thin plate. Its mechanism is simple and robust, its design frank and timeless. It doesn’t try to appear as something new or hopelessly claim another style, but instead proposes an efficient and effortless way to store, ship and sit on a chair.
